On Tuesday, January 6, 2026, the Liberia Chamber of Commerce (LCC) formally installed its newly elected Executive Council, marking the start of a renewed chapter focused on private sector advocacy, strategic leadership, and driving economic growth. The installation ceremony, attended by government officials, business leaders, and development partners, highlighted the Chamber’s commitment to transparent, results-oriented action in support of Liberia’s evolving business landscape.
In his remarks, LCC President O. Natty B. Davis, II, expressed gratitude to Council members for volunteering their time despite demanding professional schedules. He pledged to consolidate past gains, strengthen advocacy, and deepen engagement with policymakers to enhance the business environment and address lessons learned from prior initiatives.
Aligned with the government’s priority of job creation, particularly for young people, President Davis reaffirmed the Chamber’s commitment to facilitating opportunities for entrepreneurs and supporting enterprise development through collaboration with government and development partners.
Representatives from key ministries underscored their continued partnership with the Chamber. Leamon P. Gluascay of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry described the LCC as a “key partner” in advancing trade facilitation, competitiveness, and inclusive growth. The Ministry of Labor, through Steven S. Kolubah, reaffirmed its readiness to collaborate on strengthening Liberia’s labor sector, while Cllr. Cora Hare Konuwa of the Ministry of Justice assured the business community of a secure and predictable operating environment.
Later in the ceremony, President Davis emphasized that the Council’s work would be guided by constitutional governance principles, ensuring decisions are made with clarity, accountability, and transparency, in strict adherence to the Chamber’s Constitution. This approach provides a structured foundation for decision-making and internal oversight, enabling the LCC to serve effectively as a voice for the private sector and a catalyst for sustainable economic growth.
The installation concluded with a formal declaration of the Executive Council’s tenure, signaling a renewed drive for innovation, collaboration, and private sector–led growth in Liberia.
The Chamber begins this two-year term under a leadership team committed to strategic advocacy, governance guided by clear principles, and partnership with government and development stakeholders, with the ultimate goal of reinforcing Liberia’s private sector as a drive for national prosperity.
