 A delegation from the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) visited Liberia from January 19 – 22, 2025. The team, led by MCC Managing Director for Africa, Jason Small, and MCC Program Officer for Africa, Ilana Shapiro, engaged in consultative meetings with various stakeholders, including key private sector actors,  like the Chamber of Commerce and the Liberia Business Association. The US Embassy also played facilitating roles. The, Political and Economic Counselor, Sara L. Horner and Economic Officer, Blamo Nimley was also in attendance.

As part of their ongoing discussions, the MCC team participated in a roundtable meeting hosted at the Liberia Chamber of Commerce on January 21, 2025. A diverse group of private sector actors participated in the round table and provided their views on what they believed was impeding the growth of the private sector. The MCC team in turn, provided a snapshot of the program and ways on how they anticipated providing support to the sector.
